Woody 3 — the compact studio

What it is like

Woody 3 is laid out like a galley: the kitchen along one side, windows down the length, and the bed set back into an alcove at the far end with two deep storage drawers built in underneath. Everything is within about three steps of everything else, which sounds like a criticism and mostly is not — for one person it is genuinely easy to live in.

Instead of a dining table there is a narrow bar-height table with folding stools, tucked against the wall under the window. It is the right amount of furniture for the space rather than a scaled-down version of a bigger room.

The kitchen is deliberately simple: an induction hob that sits on the worktop, a kettle, and open shelves with pans, boards and spice jars where you can see them. It suits making breakfast and the odd proper meal rather than cooking for four.

One bed, two shapes

This is the only studio of the three where the bed changes. Made up as a single it leaves a good amount of clear floor; pulled out it becomes a full double with two duvets. Tell us which you need when you book and it will be made up that way before you arrive.
