Woody 2 — the one with the dining corner

What it is like

Woody 2 is the one that feels least like a room and most like a small flat. The bed is a chunky solid-pine frame rather than a metal one, and there is a separate corner by the window with a wooden table, two chairs and a tall bookcase — so you can eat, or work, somewhere other than the end of the bed.

That window is the best in the building: three tall casements with a view over orange rooftops. It faces a quiet aspect, and the radiator sits under it, which makes the corner the warmest spot in the studio in winter.

The kitchen runs along the back wall with lighting under the cabinets, a small oven set into the units, and a washing machine tucked under the worktop. That last detail is the reason most longer-staying guests end up here.

Best for

Stays of three nights or more, anyone travelling with more luggage than a cabin bag, and anyone who would rather cook properly than reheat. If you want the roof and the view instead, that is Woody 1.
